| Staffed by Grounds and Custodial
specialists, the Facilities Management
Campus Maintenance Organization supports the mission
of the University
of California, Los Angeles and its traditional
research and academic activities.
We are the largest division of Facilities Management,
servicing the Campus
seven days a week, on an average of 20 hours per
day. In addition to the
grounds and custodial maintenance, we provide
support for special events
and for the University Extension. We are responsible
for such diverse activities
as recycling the variously composed materials
(white paper, cardboard, wood,
metal, plastic, newspapers, etc.) discarded on
Campus; set up for events for as
few as 10 people to full College graduations;
daily opening and closing of
buildings and general assignment classrooms; integrated
pest management;
minor maintenance and emergency response. Campus
Maintenance members
of the Facilities Management Disaster Initial
Response Team receive training in
first response, fire suppression, light search
and rescue and restoring building
functionality in the event of a major disaster. |
